Do I need a permit to build a deck?
Most decks more than 24 inches off the ground need one, and so does anything attached to the house. We prepare the drawings, file the application, and book the inspections as part of the job.
Which decking should I choose?
It comes down to look, upkeep, and budget. Pressure-treated is the most affordable and takes stain well, composite skips the yearly maintenance, and hardwood gives you the richest grain. We walk you through the trade-offs on your own deck, not in the abstract.
Can you replace just the boards on my old deck?
If the frame and footings are still sound, we can re-surface with new decking and railings. If they're not, we'll tell you straight rather than build on a structure that won't last.
How long does a deck take to build?
Once the permit is in hand, a straightforward deck usually goes up in a week to two. Larger multi-level builds with custom railings or lighting take longer, and we give you a real timeline before we start.
